Mrs. Hanne Al Gurg
Chairperson, DCHC

History of DCHC

Dubai Community Health Centre (DCHC) – a private non-profit organization – was opened up in 1996 by Mrs. Hanne Al Gurg.

The aim of the Centre was to provide help for families with children with special needs and learning difficulties through offering parents, as well as teachers, courses, workshops and seminars on skills, techniques and psychological understanding of children from infancy until adult age.

Being aware that learning difficulties and special needs were shrouded in mystery and negativity, and in order to remove some of this stigma, Mrs. Al Gurg developed the idea to provide help in a positive, supportive and non-clinical setting.  Over the years a demand for multidisciplinary services for all age groups grew and a diverse group of professionals in the field was built up.  With this expansion of services and increasing involvement in community work, the Centre changed its name in 2001 to
Dubai Community Health Centre.

Currently, the Centre has seventeen highly qualified and experienced Professional Staff plus twelve well-trained full-time and part-time Support Staff.

Organisation Structure
Dubai Community Health Centre (DCHC)'s formal organization structure consists of a Board of Directors, comprised of the Chairperson (Mrs. Hanne Al Gurg), Vice Chairperson (Mr. Saud Al Gurg) and five professional directors, who are from amongst the Professional Staff of seventeen.  The Centre supports the Professional staff with the services of a Support Staff of 7 full time and 4 part time employees, supervised by an Administration Manager.
